6 weeks old

Miss Skye is 6 weeks old!  She can hold her head up (for a little bit:)) and kind of smiles from time to time.  She also makes little yelps and "talks" when she is in a good mood.  We LOVE our baby Skye and can't wait to see how she grows!  

The Beach

I'm probably going to go video crazy for a few days so that Mimi can see all that we are doing. Everyone else should feel free not to watch if it starts to get boring ;)

We went to a lake (I don't remember the name) last Sunday and here is a clip of Izzy and Cena having a terrific time and Jimmy taking a nap.

Happy Birthday to ME

Woohoo I'm 31!  My wonderful husband let me go to the spa for a facial, manicure and hair cut while he watched the kids and I got a new phone that takes video so hopefully I'll get to start putting video on the blog - if I figure it out :)  Let me know if you can see this video...

Dance Class

Izzy has now been in dance classes for 8 weeks and LOVES it.  She wears her ballet outfit most days and dances with any music that comes on.  Her teacher doesn't let parents watch during normal classes (the girls pay better attention without us) but yesterday was an observation day so I got to see my little girl in action.  She did a great job although she did talk a little too much and worry a great deal about where her spot was and where everyone else was standing.  I tried to get some pictures but mainly focused on the video camera and jiggling a crabby baby so here is what I have.  (Mimi, you'll get the video eventually :))

Also, we went to the doctor today and Miss Skye weighs 8 pounds 15 ounces and is 21 and 3/8 inches.  This puts her in the 50% for height, weight and head circumference which I think was bigger than Izzy (she is usually 25% for height and 25-50% for weight).  It will be funny if Izzy ends up being my height and Skye ends up being her Aunt Alli's height!

1 month old

Miss Skye is now one month old!  That's crazy, it's seems really old.  She is doing fine though not sleeping quite as soundly as she did those first 2 weeks.  I think she actually sleeps pretty well but she is a REALLY grunting, groaning noisy little thing and having her sleep in a bassinet 1 foot from my head probably isn't a great idea because I wake up at every little noise.  She also caught a cold from her sister and the extra snot has not helped!  She is just starting to look like she is going to smile and there have been a couple of times when Jimmy and I both think she has smiled at us ;)  Her doctor's appointment is tomorrow so I'll have the ht/wt stats then.  Here are some pictures - I guess her eye got tired in that first one!

Thank you Mimi and Papaw!

The 4 Wilson's are all alone for the first time today and it's a little scary.  The first 2 hours have been ok but I don't think Izzy has realized that Mimi's not coming back today.  Mimi and Papaw were here for the first week after Skye was born and then Mimi stayed another 10 days because she must have seen the desperation in my eyes.  Thanks to Mimi and Papaw we all had naps, meals, a clean apartment, prayers, encouragement and most importantly a happy 3 year old.  The only reason I'm not crying in my coffee (yes I drink a little coffee in the morning - I have to be able to open my eyes) is that they are coming back in a month.  I can make it a month, right?

Don't leave scissors in your 3 year old's room!

Actually, it could have been much worse.  She cut the tags off of 2 animals and the bow 0ff the bear but no other damage done.  I'm impressed with her skills but learned my lesson quickly and now the scissors stay in a high shelf in the living room.  When I was around 4 or 5 years old I cut off a huge chunk of my sister's hair - hopefully we won't get to that extreme :)
