Memorial Day Weekend

Despite the stomach flu running (literally) through our family over the last week, we managed to pull it together and have a really fun weekend.  Luckily Izzy didn't get sick until yesterday and Jimmy and I were feeling better by Friday so there was a little gap of fun time before we resumed the real fun of watching movies at home just waiting for the next magical moment when Izzy says "my belly really hurts".  I didn't take her seriously the first time and ended up with vomit in my hair.

Anyway, the weekend was awesome and we were blessed with three days in a row of sun and 75 degree temps which doesn't happen all that often here in my experience.  Saturday Izzy and I went to a local lake in the morning and to another bigger lake in the afternoon while Jimmy was off climbing a mountain.  On Sunday we had church, a huge nap, and then spent time at the apartment swimming pool (which is heated).  On Monday we went to Alki Beach in the morning then the swimming pool in the afternoon.  

So far Izzy is not really interested in getting in the water at the lake or the swimming pool.  She plays on the beach and throws rocks in the water at the lake and stays in the 1ft wading pool at the apartments.  I should probably be taking her in the big pool and even bought a gigantic pregnant lady bathing suit for that reason but somehow sitting on the lounge chair and watching her happily play in the baby pool wins out every time.  She can learn to swim next summer :)

Birthday Pics

We had a wonderful birthday party on Saturday.  It was sunny, 65 degrees and we were able to do the whole thing at the apartment playground instead of inside the apartment.  Izzy, Alyssa, Audrey and Sophie had a great time and were very sweet to each other.  It's so fun to see little friendships develop.  After the party we all took a nap and then opened Izzy's big present from us - a BIKE!  I thought it was an awesome present but it turns out that Izzy wasn't ready for it yet.  She likes the idea of it, just not actually riding it.  Oh well, we'll keep trying.  Try not to be too astounded by my size - I still have 2 months to go so it's only going to get worse!

3 years old!

My baby is 3 today!  I can't believe how much has changed in her short little life. We have changed jobs, moved twice, made new friends, joined a new wonderful church, been on more flights to Texas than I can count and just had a great time.  Izzy is such a sweet blessing and I am so thankful that God gave her to us.  We treasure every day with her and can't wait to see what this next year brings.  Some of my favorite things about Izzy right now include:  crazy imagination, bravery on the playground (she will climb up, swing off, jump to or ride anything that is available - her motto is "if a big kid can do it, so can I"), budding friendships with other little girls, hearing her pray before meals and before bed, hearing her sing, watching her run and dance, hearing her read books, hearing her put her dolls or animals in time out, hearing her say "I lufs (loves) you," oh and so many more things I can't list them all.  We are having a small party this Saturday with some of her friends so I will post pictures from that.

Back from Texas

Izzy and I spent last week in Texas - our last trip and thank goodness last flight for awhile.  All NASA money should be immediately diverted to figuring out teleportation - I HATE flying.  The trip was awesome and Mimi and Papaw threw Izzy and fun birthday party with lots of cake and presents.  It's a little sad that 3 adults were able to eat through half of a sheet cake in 3 days but it's not like we could just let it go to waste!  We are having another b-day party for Izzy this Saturday with a few of her little friends - hopefully it won't rain and we can have it at the park - there is no room for partying at our current casa.  I took pictures of my 29 week belly but I'm not sure if I'm going to post them.  I almost weigh as much now as I did when I gave birth to Izzy and it's just too depressing.  I think I'm going to take my sister-in-law's advice and stop looking at the scale numbers at the doctor's office.  Anyway, here are some pictures of the Texas trip.  Oh, and I found out my c-section date is July 14 - it can't come soon enough!
