Northwest Trek

This past Saturday we went to Northwest Trek which is a wildlife park with native Washington state animals.  It seemed to take FOREVER to get there and it was a little rainy and cold (surprise, surprise) but very fun.  Izzy always likes to see animals and this park had a tram ride which looked a little like a train so she really liked that.  The best part was when we got to the wolverine cage.  There were two young male wolverines going CRAZY - running in circles, jumping up on the glass, acting like they were possessed.  Izzy thought they were hilarious!  She stood up outside the glass and every time they came near she would squeal and laugh like it was the funniest thing she had ever seen.  We found out a few minutes later that it was dinner time and that is why they were acting so funny.  Stay tuned for more pics of my belly - it's getting ridiculous.

Ok - where is the spring ?!

I know Spring is coming because I have daffodils trying to bloom in my front yard but this is the fifth snow we have had in the past 2 weeks!  What the heck?  Luckily it doesn't really stick and Friday we actually had sun and 54 degree "heat wave".  

20 week belly

Here's a picture of my 20 week belly.  It's an awkward shot because I had to do it myself in the bathroom because I kept forgetting to ask Jimmy.  I'll get a better one next time.  I feel like my belly is twice as big this week and I still have 18 weeks to go - yikes!  Izzy is helping me rub lotion on my skin so hopefully I won't just explode.

It's a GIRL!!!!

Hooray!  We would have loved a boy as well but we are especially excited to have another little girl!  The rest of the ultrasound was perfectly normal and we even got to see a little of her face and hands in 3D.  The hard part now is picking a name - so far we haven't agreed on anything.

The Nuk

There are many reasons that I haven't kept up with this blog.  Laziness, writer's block, forgetting to take new pictures - these are all holding me back.   The real reason, though, is that I haven't slept more than 2-3 hours at a time in the past 6 weeks and I'm TIRED.  I had the brilliant idea 6 weeks ago to turn my perfect sleeping daughter - one I could throw in bed for naps and night time and she would be asleep in seconds - into an anti-sleep monster (are you allowed to call your daughter a monster?)  I did this by taking away her pacifier a.k.a "nuk".  I guess I was afraid her teeth would be crooked or the perfect mom police would come and say that we should have gotten rid of the nuk at 24 months.  Whatever the reason, it was STUPID!  Now it takes and hour to get her down and she wakes up every 2-3 hours crying and it takes another 10-15 minutes to get her back down.  Making the problem worse I sometimes let her sleep in my bed for naps and in the middle of the night when I just can't deal which sends the wonderful message that all she has to do is cry and Izzy gets to sleep in mommy's bed - Hooray!  I need to get strict and let her cry it out like I did when she was a baby but then Jimmy complains because he can't sleep and I cry because pregnancy hormones and toddler screaming just don't mix.  I guess we'll figure it out eventually - maybe I'll just sneak away to Hawaii for a few weeks and when I get back it will be fixed.  That works, right?
